Job opportunities

The work of a warehouse assistantfocuses on practical warehousing. They can find work in almost all branches of industry and trade as well as in the transport sector, since almost every company over a certain size has a professionally managed warehouse. The main tasks are the booking, provision and transport of goods, which is why it is usually necessary to obtain a floor transport licence in order to carry out these activities.

The training for warehouse assistants in Germany lasts two years and is open to applicants from all types of schools. In order to be able to cope with the manual aspects of the job, warehouse assistants should be physically fit and have good coordination skills. They also benefit from good organisational skills and a sense of responsibility. In an increasingly global logistics environment, foreign language skills are also an advantage in many companies.

Projects

ARTS warehouse specialists work for us and for our customers in the aerospace industry, for automotive suppliers and for well-known service providers in the transport service sector. Their tasks include checking delivery documents and packages as well as checking whether the delivered package quantity corresponds to the specified order quantity. They also check goods for possible transport damage, carry out an assessment in the event of damage and plan the further course of action. They then allocate the goods to the appropriate goods receiving processes.

In addition, ARTS warehouse specialists prepare goods in the ramp zone and for internal transport and create and assign delivery documents and labels to the packages. In addition to the active handling of goods, they also take care of the booking of incoming goods and all material transports.

Due to their permanent contact with incoming and outgoing goods traffic, warehouse specialists at ARTS always work closely with the customs department and ensure that goods flow properly - even internationally.
