Tasks

• Project responsibility for the qualification of materials in aviation

• Definition of requirements and properties of materials and manufacturing processes as well as the appropriate methods to verify and validate the requirements

• Assumption of independent responsibility for test campaigns from planning, execution, evaluation to reporting in cooperation with the specialist departments

• Carrying out mechanical tests and aviation-specific tests on plastics, bonded joints, composite materials, textiles, etc. 

• Documentation and evaluation of test results as well as preparation of test reports

• Familiarisation with procedural instructions, procedural standards, product specifications, test specifications and test instructions

• Maintaining interfaces with cabin and cargo hold design teams, purchasing, quality assurance, customer support as well as suppliers and research institutes

Qualification

• Successfully completed engineering studies in the field of materials science or a similar qualification with special knowledge in properties, testing and manufacturing processes of materials

• Professional experience in the field of activity desirable

• Experience in project management, previous experience in a laboratory accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 advantageous

• Confident handling of research and laboratory equipment as well as their processes in compliance with known and relevant regulations

• Fluent in German and fluent in English

• Willingness to travel on business
