We are looking for an engineer for the Galileo satellite system for our customer Airbus Defence an Space GmbH in Taufkirchen. In your future position you will be responsible for supporting GNSS signal engineering of the European satellite navigation systems EGNOS and Galileo.

Task description

  • Executing of evaluation and verification activities such as simulations
  • Implementation  the trade-off analyses and maintenance of requirements as well as interface control documents
  • Supporting to GNSS campaigns assessing the performance of the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) in end-user devices
  • Characterization of relevant parameters for mass-market and professional GNSS receivers in different environments 
  • Supporting to testing campaigns for new European regulations related to GNSS and to Galileo user segments in the development and use of Galileo system
  • Executing of user-segment test campaigns for service verification and mass-market applications by assessing the Galileo positioning performance in end-user devices
  • Generation and maintenance of technical documentation


  • Degree in engineering preferentially electrical engineering or aviation and aerospace
  • Experience in link budget calculation and in GNSS receiver laboratories
  • Knowledge in satellite navigation systems, in particular GPS and Galileo
  • Profound knowledge on GNSS system and user algorithms including precise positioning concepts such as PPP and RTK
  • Knowledge in HF-signal processing and design, such as modulation schemes, message encoding aspects
  • Experience in engineering software and programming with C, Python or Matlab
  • Fluent English
