Electricians are responsible for ensuring that electrical equipment in the company or at the customer's works properly and safely and that the electricity in the company building reliably arrives where it is needed. To this end, they carry out sometimes complex installation and testing activities, from planning to quality testing and documentation.
For an electrician's job in industry, you usually complete a three-and-a-half-year training course as an electronics technician. This begins with basic training and an intermediate examination. Subsequently, the trainees can decide on a specialization. This leads to the designations electrician operating technology, electrician for energy and building technology, electrician devices and systems or electrician building technology. Related training, for example as a mechatronics technician, can also serve as a basis for work as an electrician.
In addition to completed training, electricians should have sufficient technical and physical understanding to be able to understand the devices they are equipping and testing. As the work is of great safety relevance, electricians should also have an independent and careful way of working.
Electricians work for ARTS and our partners in industries such as aerospace, IT service providers or exhaust gas cleaning. They take on tasks with high safety relevance and, for example, carry out electronic tests on stationary and mobile devices. However, the activities of ARTS electricians include not only the testing itself, but also the preparation of the corresponding individual testing concepts for the customer. This also includes the associated coordination of the subsequent test procedures at the customer's premises. Within the scope of the test, it is of central importance that the measurement results are correctly recorded in order to have a truthful basis for the subsequent evaluation.
