Organization, coordination and planning are significant characteristics that every logistician should have. Therefore, the application possibilities in logistics jobs are very diverse.

Possible applications

To fill a job offer in logistics, you will usually complete an apprenticeship as a forwarding merchant or merchant for wholesale and foreign trade. A course of study, such as business administration or industrial engineering with a focus on logistics, also enables you to enter the profession.

The task of the logistician is often described using the Seven-Rights of Logistics by Plowman. This states that logisticians supply the right goods in the right quantities and of the right quality to the right customer at the right time and the right place at the right cost.

In particular, the coordination and transport of the goods, as well as their storage, cost optimization and resource planning are among the tasks of a logistician. Furthermore, they are responsible for the coordination of the material flow and thus ensure the optimal organization of the production line. The close cooperation with production planning, purchasing and supply chain management, as well as with suppliers and customers requires communication skills and the ability to work in a team. Another important part of their tasks is working with databases. With the help of these databases, ordering processes are triggered and stockkeeping is monitored.

Projects

In Bavaria our logisticians are on duty e.g. with our customer Airbus Defence and Space. In Manching the prime focus is on production logistics. In Neubur an der Donau their task is to coordinate the flow of goods and customer communication.

In Hamburg, our logisticians work for the client Airbus Operations. They monitor, among other things, the material flow for Airbus A320s.

In Bordeaux and Toulouse, ARTS logisticians also work for the customer Airbus Operations within the scope of Work Packages. At both locations they are responsible, among other things, for the proper storage of the structural components and material groups of the Airbus A350, as well as the transfer to the SAP system. They are also responsible for the goods coordination of the A350 components.

Application

You should bring that with you:

• Completed training as a forwarding agent or as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant
• Good command of English

• Several years of professional experience
