Warehouse logistics specialist is an industrial apprenticeship lasting three years, but career changers with prior knowledge can also pursue a job as a warehouse logistics specialist. The work as a warehouse logistics specialist includes physical, administrative and commercial tasks and is thus very varied. In addition to physical ability, planning and organizational skills as well as good self-organization are particularly necessary. Foreign language skills are important for activities involving contact with international goods traffic, especially English. Knowledge of merchandise management systems and a driver's license for industrial trucks are also frequently required.
Projects
Warehouse logistics specialists work for ARTS and our customers in the aerospace and automotive supply industries and for selected service providers in the transport service sector. They take on activities in goods receiving and control, storage as well as goods issue. They work in close cooperation with colleagues from the logistics and customs departments.
Warehouse logistics specialists, for example, accept incoming goods and check the delivery documents, the delivery quantity and the quality of the delivery. Based on this, they assess any damage discovered and process it as far as possible. They then assign the goods to the incoming goods processes and initiate any necessary complaint procedures. Internally, skilled workers prepare goods for internal transport. In the outgoing goods area, they create delivery documents and package labels and assign these documents to the individual shipments. They then make the packages available in the ramp zone. All transport activities are also booked by the skilled workers.
