Technical Editor Aviation (m/f/x)

Design technical content with clarity and precision

At our customer Diehl Aerospace GmbH in Überlingen, you can expect a responsible position as a Technical Editor in which you can actively contribute your communication skills, your structured way of working and your service orientation. As part of a dynamic team, you will work in a goal-oriented and flexible manner on high-quality technical documentation for the aviation industry.

The maximum gross annual salary is €55,800. Please note that we can only consider candidates who have a valid, unrestricted work permit for the EU (no student visa).

Tasks

  • Independent preparation of maintenance and repair documentation to ensure the flight and operational suitability of equipment and systems in the civil and military sector
  • Maintenance and migration of maintenance and repair documentation from legacy to modern systems
  • Planning and implementation of internal and external reviews and store verifications for quality control
  • Coordination and planning of documentation projects in cooperation with external service providers, including deadline management
  • Recording, control and monitoring of the project-related budget for documentation projects

Qualification

  • Completed training or academic-technical studies with further training as a technical writer, ideally in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable field
  • Several years of professional experience in the aerospace industry as well as many years of experience in the field of technical customer documentation
  • Sound knowledge of Simplified Technical English (ASD STE100) for the standard-compliant creation of technical texts
  • Experience with the specifications iSpec2200 and S1000D and ideally knowledge of the product ranges of Airbus, Boeing and military documentation
  • Confident handling of editorial systems, Content management systems and XML/SGML-based tools for structured documentation
  • Detailed user knowledge of MS Office and SAP
  • Proficient in German and English, at least at C1 level
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the EU, especially to other Diehl locations
  • Valid, unrestricted work permit for the EU (not a student visa) is mandatory
