Tasks

  • Inspection of CAD data from designers prior to meshing
  • Independently mesh components with Altair tools and perform quality checks according to internal guidelines
  • Set up models for static and quasi-static loading conditions using Altair tools
  • Analysing test data and implementing technical approaches in the FE model for improvement
  • Performing FEA on individual parts and assemblies to check structural criteria and occupant damage
  • Performing linear and non-linear static analyses as well as pre- and post-processing
  • Validation of models and correlation with actual test data, compliance with company and certification procedures, documentation and database maintenance
  • Ensuring model quality, timely completion, regular status and schedule updates, responding to customer enquiries and participating in customer satisfaction technical meetings

Qualification

  • Successfully completed studies in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Many years of experience in aeronautical engineering
  • Sound knowledge of structural engineering, such as free-body diagrams and material strength
  • Comprehensive understanding of finite element analysis (FEA) and fatigue methods, with experience in Altair HyperWorks Suite or ANSYS
  • Additional knowledge of NASTRAN, ABAQUS, stochastic/statistical tools (DOE) and optimisation tools is an advantage
  • Experience with composite materials and basic CATIA knowledge is preferred
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations as well as Boeing/Airbus specifications and design knowledge (e.g. reading drawings, damage allowable mapping)
  • Willingness to perform testing and physical work in the test lab
  • Existing work permit for the EU
