Ensuring the damage tolerance and fatigue strength of aerospace structures, including metal and composite structures and components
Definition and determination of load spectra through measurements
Selection and qualification of inspection procedures (NDI) according to expertise
Evaluation of material properties in relation to the environment, material technology and manufacturing process
Use of numerical methods to determine stress intensity, crack propagation simulation and fatigue analysis
Derivation and implementation of damage tolerance requirements for components and subsystems
Ensuring structural integrity and monitoring implementation (Fracture Control Programme)
Developing damage-tolerant components and subsystems and supporting the implementation of new materials and technologies
Degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering or a comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience in aerospace or related fields
Very good knowledge and experience in fracture mechanics, fatigue strength and damage simulation
Experience in technical analyses of space systems as well as knowledge of mechanics and lightweight construction
Good understanding of theoretical representation of technical problems
Confidence in the assessment of technical problems and analytical competence
Ability to present development results convincingly to technical experts
Business fluent in German and English, basic knowledge of French an advantage
Existing work permit for the EU
