Linux Administrator (f/m/x)

The University Computer Center (HRZ) is a central facility of the Technische Universität Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt). It plans, implements and operates the university's central IT services for research, teaching and studies and makes its know-how available to all members of the university as a competence center in the field of information technology.

Tasks

  • Independent support of the Debian servers in a VMWare cluster
  • Ensuring the technical operation and monitoring of the applications
  • Docker administration
  • Setting up and operating a Kubernetes cluster
  • Consulting and customer support

 

Qualification

  • University degree in computer science or a related technical field or comparable technical training with relevant professional experience,
  • Many years of experience in the technical operation (administration and maintenance) of IT applications as well as technical customer consulting and support in Linux
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes desirable
  • Knowledge of java or C++ an advantage
  • Knowledge of bash
  • Ability to work in a team, independent work, proactive and independent familiarization with new topics
  • Very good knowledge of German and English
