Tasks

  • Support the development team in defining functions, architectures and requirements in the UAS development cycle

  • Validation and verification of functions within the UAS development cycle

  • Create and update a safety programme plan according to customer and regulatory requirements

  • Working closely with various engineering teams (avionics, propulsion, structure, software, flight control) to ensure safety requirements are met

  • Planning and execution of all activities according to the safety programme plan

  • Familiarity with UAS systems, constraints and procedures as well as safety related customer and regulatory requirements

  • Perform functional hazard analyses, system safety assessments and fault tree analyses in the safety assessment process

Qualification

  • University degree in engineering or extensive experience in conducting safety assessments in the aviation sector

  • Professional experience in conducting assessments

  • Familiarity with ARP4761 and other relevant safety assessment guidelines

  • Knowledge of European UAS regulations is advantageous

  • Strong skills in MS Office and Excel, ideally also with knowledge of Ansys Medini

  • Very good command of English
